Grove Park Primary School Office Storage
The School Office As It Was
We were kindly invited to provide a quotation for the provision of additional storage for Grove Park School, to perhaps match and complement the existing furniture, as shown above.
The school needed to increase the number of pigeion hole compartments that were used for the post for staff and teachers, and to provide additional storage capacity.
Initial Design Using 3D Cad Software
During the meeting at the school, and several discussions later, Aerofoil Design proposed a radical change to the furniture, with the introduction of a special cupboard solution.
Initially we had been asked for a low cupboard on the left, but also needed to incorporate storage for school uniform samples. Gradually the design evolved.
Developing The Design
The design has now evolved to include a taller unit behind the pillar, and this later became hanging space.
The main cupboards were later changed to feature longer doors on the top section.
The excellent quality of Assmann's InvitAss storage wall cupboard system, combined with our many year's experience of how to best utlise it, allows us to create fantastic solutions to difficult storage problems.
Storage Built Around Pillar
The open wardrobe unit has two rows of hanging space for the school uniform samples. This unit has been fitted at ninety degrees to the other units and makes the optimum use of the space which is confined by the structural steel pillar.
Having met and exceeded the initial brief an additional order has now been placed to box in the electronic equipment in the corner, whilst maintaining access and ventilation to it.
Storage Units With Wardrobe
The agreed specification for this run of storage was for additional pigeon-hole letter trays that are easily accessible, with pull out suspended filing behind the lower doors and shelves above.
The left hand unit is a wardrobe, complete with rail and mirror.
Most of our storage wall installations feature ceiling blinds, which are scribing panels that hide the gaps between the top cupboards and the ceiling. End panels are optionally specified, as they have been here, to finish off the ends of the cupboards and to conceal the gap between the cupboards and the wall.
Side Opening Tambour Cupboard Solution
There were a number of solutions put forward for this area, which involved combinations of cupboards and open shelves.
This chosen solution features Assmann's side opening tambour cabinets which allow the concealment of the uniform without the hindrance of opening doors. The Till was positioned on a new storage pedestal.
The gap behind the cupboard, caused by the protrusion in the corner, was covered by a special end cladding panel.
